EELC's mission is to provide nurturing care and education for 130 children from the Lynchburg area.
We do not charge the families of any of our children the full cost of quality education and childcare
at the Center. Twenty five percent of our children pay only 30% of the tuition fees, while an additional
twenty five percent pay just 60%. Mrs. Elizabeth M. Forsyth supplied support for the building, furnishings
and an Endowment Fund that will furnish income for a portion of our annual operational expenses. However,
much more help is needed.
Our challenge is to secure financial support to enable EELC to provide scholarship assistance for one-half of our children. Elizabeth's Early Learning Center provides a critical community service and we ask that you consider joining with us by supporting the Scholarship Program in one of four ways:
Named opportunities for scholarships are available for individuals or businesses which may wish to endow a fund for EELC. With a single gift (or a series of gifts, such as $10,000/year for three years) to our Endowment Fund, an endowed scholarship can be established for $30,000. The donor can use such a gift to honor or remember a friend or family member. Our goal is to endow 25 new scholarships in this campaign.
The average annual cost for EELC to educate a child is $6,200, which is approximately $3,000 more than the average tuition charged to families because of our reduced fee schedule. A commitment of $3,000 therefore will provide a scholarship for one year, which can also be gifted on an annual basis. This support will significantly enhance our ability to enroll and educate the children who are the future of our community.
You can Leave a Legacy through the Greater Lynchburg Community Trust. Whether your assets are large or small, you can enhance the life of a child and family and improve the quality of life in our community. This can be done by your will, by a Charitable Remainder Trust, an endowment gift, or by naming EELC as the beneficiary of a life insurance policy.
Gifts of any size will help us support our children. Gifts in honor or memory of a family member or friend will be promptly acknowledged with a letter notifying them of your thoughtfulness. Special events, Christmas or Hanukkah gifts, Mother's or Father's Day ... all great times to remember a special person and EELC.
We are deeply grateful for your consideration of support and look forward to working with you in the future as together we continue to make a difference in the lives of those who follow.
